Tummy Time!

Ryan really moves around when laying on his stomach in the co-sleeper so Chris and I put the twins on the floor the other day for their first experience with tummy time.  Addison was not having it and started screaming immediately so her and I sat on the floor and watched Ryan try to coordinate himself enough to move around.  He managed to lift up his head and feet, but that was it.  Still, it was cute to watch and he really didn't mind it at first, until he finally got frustrated and we sat him up.

Addison gets rattled

We are anxious and excited for the babies to begin playing with and responding to their toys.  My mom and I were curious if the babies would be interested in a rattle yet so I dug out a small one that I actually used when I was a baby.  Addison would grab onto it, but then seemed pretty oblivious to the fact that it was there.  Oh well, at least it made for some cute pictures!

Two months old!!!

Time is flying by!  I can't believe it but the twins are already two months old.  They are starting to smile at us and sort of laugh (though more to themselves than at something we are doing).  They are also starting to babble (SOOOO cute) and really study their surroundings.  Both of them are pretty good at holding their heads up now and Ryan is really starting to use his legs to hold his weight when we hold him up or to scoot when he is on his stomach.  I think he is going to be an early crawler!

At their two month appointment, Ryan weighed a whopping 10 lbs 3 oz and measured 22 inches!

Addison weighed 8 lbs 6 oz and measured 20 1/4 inches.

Ryan is definitely pulling away from her weight wise but watch out!  Addison may be petite but she can be a feisty one and shows us how stubborn she is everyday (she definitely gets that from Mommy).

Here are some pictures we took of them on their two month birthday :)

Mr. Ryan is already longer than his big teddy bear.  The bear had better watch out as I'm pretty sure Ryan is planning on making a meal out of him :)

"Please, no autographs"

Ryan is usually very chill and makes lots of funny faces.  Addison is often very serious and pensive.  I wonder what she is thinking about.  She will spend five minutes or more just staring at her Daddy's face.

Addison has already started mastering her Kung Fu skills.  Ryan had better watch out!

We can't wait to see what changes the next month will bring!

The twins LOVE their swings

The title says it all.  The twins absolutely love their swings - so much so that I bought another one off of Cragislist because they just weren't as happy in the other swing or in the bouncer.  They will both sit happily in their swing and just take in their surroundings and have recently started "talking" up a storm while lounging in their swings.  They also fall asleep and nap in them which makes it much easier to get them down, especially when they are fighting taking a nap.

For anyone expecting their own little bundle of joy, we highly recommend getting one of these particular swings as they have truly been a lifesaver to us.  Here are just some pictures of the dynamic duo enjoying their swing time while we try to get some quick chores done.

Notice the excessive presence of burp cloths everywhere - yup, they are still spitting up every chance they get!

Oh, and have you noticed that both of the babies like having their faces covered?  It's weird, we will put a burp cloth on their chest to try to catch anything they spit up and they will both (especially Ryan) pull it up to cover their face.

Camera shy Addison?

Ryan will also scoot his way under his blanket when he is in the co-sleeper at night or when taking a nap.  He insists on having his face covered!  I keep saying that the SIDs people would have a cow if they saw him but it is the only way he will sleep so we just keep a close eye on him and only use lightweight blankets to cover him.  Silly boy.

Lounging time on the boppy with Daddy

Addison LOVES spending time on Daddy's lap.  Since her reflux is continuing to bother her, she often needs to spend time on her belly.  Daddy figured out that she enjoys laying on his lap on the boppy while he pats her back.

She even falls asleep like this and sometimes we just don't have the heart to wake her up to move her so we just carry her to the co-sleeper as one package for a little nap.  Don't worry, we don't leave her like this unattended :)
