One month

I can't believe the twins are one month old.  It has flown by and they have already changed so much.

Ryan is holding his head up on his own quite a bit now and is so alert and aware of his surroundings.  He finally started to breastfeed this week and is now OBSESSED with nursing.  If I let him, I think he would nurse all day long.

Addison is much more quiet and calm still and likes to cuddle up and sleep a lot, especially on Mommy.  She is still learning to nurse but eats from the bottle like a champ.  We have to make her take lots of breaks while she is eating or she will gulp one down in just a few minutes.

I am trying to slow down and enjoy every day since I know they will be crawling toddlers before we know it.

To celebrate them being one month old, we took pictures of them next to their teddy bears.  This is a tradition started by our great friends the Morales Crew with their daughters and I always thought it was a great way to show how much the babies grow each month.

Smile!

These pictures show just how much bigger Ryan is than Addison.  He is becoming quite the chunky monkey.

Did I mention how LONG he has gotten?

Getting them to pose together was somewhat of a challenge...

Life in the co-sleeper....

Since coming home, the twins have spent a fair amount of time in the co-sleeper - sometimes sleeping, often NOT.  Looking back at the pictures, it is fun to see what happens when left to their own devices.....

In the first few days home from the hospital, Chris and I, being the new and ultra cautious parents that we were, bundled the babies up as if it were winter.

Notice that they are in a sleeper, with hats on, and then swaddled with an extra blanket on top.
Did I give birth to babies, or smurfs?

Yes, it is summer, but the air conditioner is on at night and we didn't want them to get cold.  Don't worry we've since realized that all that clothing isn't necessary.

When we put them next to each other during the day, it turns into a battle to see who can get the other's hand in one's mouth first.

Addison: "Now wait a minute, don't be hasty, maybe we can talk about this...."
